Supplier Information Session

On Tuesday, April 21 from 9 am to 11 am at Pat Stapleton Arena the City of Sarnia is hosting a Supplier Information Session for local businesses and suppliers who want to better understand how to work with the City and how the tendering and competitive procurement processes operate.

This session will provide a practical overview of: 

• How the City buys goods and services (tenders, RFPs, RFQs and other competitive processes)
• Why the City follows specific procurement rules and steps (fairness, transparency, value for money, and public accountability)
• How to find and respond to City opportunities and what to expect during the evaluation and award process
• Best practices for engaging with the City—including how to ask questions,  submit compliant bids, and avoid common submission issues

We’re also pleased to welcome guest speakers LouAnn Birkett, Senior Supply Chain Advisor -  Contracts for Kinetic GPO, and Liz Irwin, Business Development Manager, Southwestern Ontario and Manitoba for Kinetic GPO, who will share:

• What Group Purchasing Organization (GPO) opportunities are and how they work
• How local vendors can get involved in GPO purchasing
• The benefits of becoming a registered vendor, including visibility and access to additional opportunities

Whether you’re new to municipal bidding or looking to strengthen your approach, this is a great opportunity to ask questions, build your understanding, and get set up for success in future procurement opportunities.
