The Sarnia Lambton Workforce Development Board (SLWDB) recently released its Local Labour Market Plan (LLMP), a report aimed at helping the public, jobseekers, service providers, and employers better understand the local labour market. Based on community consultations, data and research findings from a variety of sources over the past year, the LLMP provides an overview of Sarnia-Lambton’s labour market. It looks at population trends, educational attainment, industry trends, employment numbers, and more.
The LLMP also includes an Action Plan for 2022-2027 that is meant to address issues identified in the statistical data. Five key priorities are outlined in the Action Plan, including Recruitment and Retention, Promotion of the Skilled Trades, Soft Skills Training, Supporting Workers with Disabilities, and International Student and Worker Retention.
