Funding Opportunity for Businesses in Southern Ontario

Applications are now open for FedDev Ontario’s funding program, designed to support businesses in Southern Ontario that are ready to grow, innovate, and compete in new markets. From October 22, 2024, to December 20, 2024, incorporated businesses can apply for no-interest, repayable contributions ranging from $125,000 to $10 million per project.

 

Who Can Apply?
Eligible applicants include growing and established businesses, co-operatives, and Indigenous (First Nations, Métis, and Inuit Peoples) businesses located or expanding in Southern Ontario. To qualify, businesses must:

  • Be for-profit entities
  • Be incorporated in Canada or Ontario
  • Have a minimum of 5 full-time employees
  • Have at least 3 years of business operations

 

FedDev Ontario supports businesses that:

  • Develop, commercialize, or produce innovative products, processes, and services
  • Improve productivity, capacity, and competitiveness
  • Scale-up and expand to develop new business opportunities or enter new markets

 

Priority Areas:
The program is looking for projects in the following key areas:

  1. Clean Economic Growth – Projects contributing to emissions reductions and creating sustainable, green jobs.
  2. Growth Companies – Projects accelerating business development and growth.
  3. Technology – Projects in cutting-edge sectors.
  4. Industrial Transition – Projects helping traditional sectors adopt new technologies and innovations to boost competitiveness.
  5. Automotive Suppliers – Projects supporting the transition to Zero-Emission Vehicles (ZEV) and building a Canadian ZEV supply chain.

 

Inclusive Growth:
Projects that support underrepresented groups and promote growth across urban, small, and rural communities are strongly encouraged.
