Boost Your Local Tourism with the Tourism Growth Program

The Tourism Growth Program in southern Ontario  is now open for applications, offering $108 million over three years (2023/2024 to 2025/2026) to support and enhance local tourism products and experiences. Applicants may request up to $250,000 per project.

Program Overview

The TGP aims to:

• Celebrate businesses driving tourism attractions
• Diversify regional economies
• Contribute to Canada’s long-term tourism growth strategy

‍Eligible applicants inc_lude:

• Small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in tourism
• Indigenous-owned businesses
• Not-for-profits and tourism associations
• Municipal, provincial, and territorial governments

Priority Considerations:

• Preference may be given to new SMEs.
• Projects enhancing Indigenous tourism and increasing rural visitation are prioritized.

‍Projects should focus on:

• Supporting the Indigenous tourism industry
• Supporting active outdoor experiences
• Extending the tourism season

Financial Assistance:

• Contributions for SMEs are typically repayable.
• Non-profits may receive non-repayable contributions.

How to Apply:

1.      Check Eligibility: Review the program guidelines to see if it fits your needs.

2.      Attend Information Sessions: Register to attend a virtual session for guidance on the application process.

3.      Submit Application: Complete and submit your application by September 17, 2024 at 4:59 PM ET. Indigenous applicants should contact indigenous-autochtones@feddevontario.gc.ca.
